My favorite coffee shop Foster Coffee is now open in downtown East Lansing! I’ve spent the last few years making trips to Owosso to grab coffee at the original Foster location, which I plan to continue to do since Owosso gives me major Stars Hollow vibes, but I’m incredibly excited to get this coffee down the street now on the regular.
Foster Coffee Opening
The coffee shop is officially open with their grand opening kicking off this weekend Sept. 20-22. Their coffee is so smooth and delicious with syrups and even almond milk made in-house. Their pastries are also some of my favorites and they’ll be expanding their offerings in East Lansing to include avocado toast and smoothies.
The actual space is beautifully and thoughtfully designed with a loft level, an array of seating options and lovely details like gold light fixtures, teal accent walls and leather booths. Lots of natural light is a must for me in coffee shops and this one is filled with it thanks to giant windows! I imagine myself on solo coffee dates people watching out these windows.
Being Part of the Process
About a year ago, I started freelance work with Foster Coffee to help with public relations and community outreach since they highly prioritize community. As they say “We exist to foster community through coffee by partnering with other local businesses, city, civic, and non-profit organizations that serve people and build stronger relationships. Foster Coffee Company is a destination craft coffee experience providing a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy working, reading, meeting, conversing, as well as building relationships and community.”
They truly live their mission and vision. I’ve helped them meet with people throughout the community to understand their needs, helped them share their story and I’m honored to have been part of this process–and learn firsthand how much owners Nick and Jon live their mission and vision each day–and how that trickles down to every part of their business. If you get a chance, stop by and grab a coffee and experience it yourself!
