My Spring Allergy Battle
Spring is my favorite time of year in Michigan. The season takes us from gloomy, cold weather to warmer weather with blooming trees and flowers. But of course, my spring allergies kick in just as spring arrives. My allergies have reached the point where they’re completely debilitating and if I don’t start my day with FLONASE Allergy Relief, I’m in for a rough day.
Two years ago, I incorporated FLONASE Allergy Relief into my spring allergy routine. Unlike most allergy pills, FLONASE relieves*—more so than any pill has been able to accomplish. It also helps block 6 allergic substances, while most allergy pills only block 1**. It has made my day-to-day life easier—I can get to work on time without feeling sick and I can enjoy my weekend plans without having to delay or cancel them like I’ve had to in the past. Or even just wake up and spend some time relaxing in my home without constantly sneezing. I use it consistently, which is key, and feel like myself no matter the spring allergens in the air.
Where You Can Find Flonase
Walgreens is the easiest place for me to snag one since it’s already where I pick up my prescriptions and where I snag other necessities like vitamins and snacks. Shop for FLONASE and FLONASE Sensimist Allergy Relief at your local Walgreens.
Tips + Tricks for Consistent Use
Whether I’m traveling or out and about during the day, I pack FLONASE with me. Sometimes I’m forgetful with remembering to use it, so I keep one in my nightstand and another one in my purse or backpack. And when I need extra help remembering, I set a daily alarm for a month or so while my allergies are at their worst as one final reminder to remember to use FLONASE! Just a couple tips from one forgetful person to another!
I find these little tricks keep me using the product every 24 hours consistently, and I can continue on with my walks with James down the River Walk Trail, shop in my favorite neighborhoods with ease, and work out without feeling congested and struggling to breathe.
My Spring Goals No Matter the Pollen
My spring goals mainly include more self-care. From longer walks with my dog down the river trail or around my neighborhood; making my work outs more fun; or just taking my time in the morning to wake up, read a magazine and relax without allergies ruling my life. It’s gotten easier for me make the best of spring with FLONASE—easy to take day trips to other towns in Michigan or be a tourist in my own town. Again, just pack your FLONASE no matter where you go!
*vs single-ingredient antihistamines which do not treat nasal congestion
**Mechanism vs. most over-the-counter (OTC) allergy pills. FLONASE nasal sprays act on multiple inflammatory substances (histamine, prostaglandins, cytokines, tryptases, chemokines and leukotrienes). The exact number and precise mechanism are unknown.
