I’ve been feeling haggard for a while now and couldn’t quite put my finger on WHY. And then I got my eyebrows microbladed.
Why I Got My Brows Microbladed
My brows are naturally pretty full. I do get them waxed and tinted monthly because they tend to be on the blonder side and I feel so much better after a fresh tint. Some people might need more microblading based on their shape and brow fullness, everyone differs and I knew I wanted mine to look slightly more defined and full! I am in awe of how beautiful my brows are now and I feel like the definition really changes my look for the better–and I felt so pretty after!
Why I Waited So Long
I hadn’t done proper research and was scared about getting permanent make up and being stabbed with a tattoo needle. What if it was done incorrectly? What if I hated the shape? What if it hurts like hell and I could only withstand one brow getting done? I had a consultation with Stephanie who owns Stephagio’s Salon in Lansing’s Reo Town and we talked through all of my concerns and I felt confident and ready to book my appointment.
The Process
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattoo that involves using tiny needles that make up a small blade to help deposit pigment under your skin–not a tattoo gun, like I had envisioned. Stephanie first disinfected my brows and then began to map them out, placing a measuring tape across my forehead and a tool that helped precisely map out my brows with a tinted string.
Once she completed the mapping, she reviewed what she planned to do with my brows and we talked it through and agreed on the shape. Next, she numbed them with cream. She then started with an outline of one brow, then added more numbing cream and then outlined the other brow, adding more numbing cream before heading back to the original brow to start filling it in. She went back and forth a few times and I felt nothing during this process (no pain!) And we reviewed the brow shape and fullness and decided they both needed one more pass on each side–and then I was done!
The after care is key–it’s important to avoid moisture, so I’m working out, but at a much slower pace to avoid sweat. She reviewed the aftercare in great detail and gave me a bit of dial soap and ointment to apply. If you’re looking for someone to upgrade your brows in the greater Lansing area (or beyond), set up a consultation with Stephanie.

I’ve been considering getting my eyebrows microbladed – in fact, I just made an appointment today, haha! What a coincidence. ๐
