I had to dress up for a legislative conference yesterday and I wasn’t going to let the fresh snow and ice cramp my style! It was warmer from what I’ve been used to at around 33 degrees so a long-sleeved tunic paired with my favorite winter poncho kept me warm. I added the faux leather leggings to dress the look up, which proved to a practical decision since they kept my legs toasty warm.
My hair has been a mess, but I feel so lazy when it’s so snowy and cold, so a low pony has been my go-to hairstyle this week. Anyone else find themselves giving up because winter is just too much and you’re over it too? Asking for a friend.
A big thank you to intern Taylor for snapping these for me. We had a lunch meeting at Arcadia Smokehouse and I asked if she would snap a couple quick for me before our meeting and lunch! Which by the way, if you’re in Lansing, is a tasty little spot! I haven’t tried the beer yet since I don’t like beer, but the pizzas and pulled pork are so good.
Recreating the Look
I love a cozy poncho and I found this zippable one from H&M, and I love the fringed hem. And while this isn’t a winter outerwear piece, this cozy sweater poncho is on my shopping list, especially since it’s just $20.
And my favorite dressed up legging is a faux leather legging, either Spanx moto leggings or Lysse legging brands. They suck me in, but are still super comfortable and hold up year after year.
Super soft long-sleeved tunics are a staple this time of the year. They layer easily and the length works perfectly with leggings–and they’re so versatile. This black tunic is super basic and something I think everyone should have in their closet (plus, it comes in a ton of colors). I also love this black tunic with the oversized pockets. If you’re looking for something a little more free flowing, this Free People cotton tunic might be what you’re looking for. I love the silhouette!

I’m impressed that you manage to stay so dressed up even in a storm! I just bundle myself up in the warmest pieces I have when it’s cold. Cute look! ๐

I love the look, it looks super cozy. I had never seen a poncho with a hood, it seems super useful.
