Every winter, my dry skin struggle reoccurs like clockwork with the return of the hot, dry air blasting at home and the office. Itโs something thatโs intensified as I hit my thirties and instead of complaining about it, I find ways to make it more of an enjoyable, relaxing experience to hydrate my skin.
My Dry Skin Struggle + New Routine
Since I recently wrapped up a partial remodel in my bathroom, the shower/bath experience has become so much more enjoyableโespecially after adding in a new product to my typical body care routine. Before, I couldnโt even take a bath in my tub. Now I treat myself to a relaxing bath with products that help combat the dry, flaky skin I suffer from this time of the year.
Iโve started using a combination of Jergens Shea Moisturizer and Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Enriching Shea Oil into my daily routine. Iโve used the shea moisturizer for years, and it had always been part of my after-shower routine, but I recently introduced the wet skin product to experience a whole new type of moisturizing. And itโs been the best product that Iโve added into my winter skincare routineโmy legs instantly feel soft and smooth. I now use the shea moisturizer when I haven’t just showered since I’m constantly dry and use the wet skin moisturizer following every shower/bath.
The best thing about the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is the time and effort it saves me from having to moisturize after I’ve showered and dried off. My hands are typically non-stop dry no matter how much hand lotion I apply, but adding this product into my routine has essentially solved my dry skin hands. They feel like velvet instantly and stay soft and smooth throughout the day.
My routine, of course, starts with face and body wash and an occasional leg shave, followed by applying Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer as I get out of the shower. This product is applied before you dry off out of the shower or bath. Once you apply, pat dry to lock in hydration for 24 hours. It instantly soaks in. I usually toss on a robe or keep my towel on me for a while so I can apply Jergens Shea Moisturizer (although, not necessarily needed as the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer does a good enough job on its own!) followed by a heavy facial moisturizer.
When I get spray tans, I typically apply the shea moisturizer twice a day (morning and night) and the wet skin moisturizer each evening after my daily shower to get the spray tan to last. Moisturized, hydrated skin holds on to that color even longer.
The Perfect Gift
So this combination is just another gift Iโve given myself this holiday season because itโs the relaxing experience I want this time of the year when Iโm stressed beyond beliefโand my skin is increasingly dry and itchy this time of the year.
And for friends, this could easily become a mini at-home spa day gift basket. Add a new book from your friendโs favorite genre, a candle and this Jergens combo! Or a fun PJ set with the Jergens products to encourage a cozy, relaxing winter. I love gifts that are equally practical and thoughtfulโand Jergens is an everyday necessity, especially during winter, but can be integrated into a relaxing, daily skincare/body care routine for you and your friends.
To purchase, shop online at Jergens Shea Moisturizer and find Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Enriching Shea Oil on Amazon or at local retailers. I found the wet skin product at Kroger a couple weeks ago! And for every purchase from the Jergens Shea Butter line, the company gives a percentage back to the nonprofit Global Shea Alliance to empower women who collect and process shea nuts in Africa.
