Before the heat and humidity rolled back into town, I was a happy camper enjoying the fall-like weather, wearing jeans, this slouchy striped top and even a fresh new hat. Have I mentioned I’m excited for fall? And that I’m OVER SUMMER?!
On The Road Again
I spend a lot of time in my car. I swear I drive to Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor or Detroit at least once a week, most likely more and I just want to style something comfortable and chic–and with fall vibes at the moment. James joined me on last weekend’s travels since I was staying in my motorhome on my parents’ property and I want him to get used to being in it with me.
He enjoyed the downtown Grand Rapids walks for coffee and shopping. He’s not used to walking around in busier areas so he was a little overwhelmed with the chaos and commotion, and he made plenty of dog and human friends on the sidewalks. I met up with my friend Jen at Madcap Coffee and we sat outside for some time catching up before she helped me snap a few pics for the blog! Bless her and her photography skills! And then James and I were off to Muskegon to find shelter in the Fiona the Tioga as the rain and storms hit.
My Fall Transition Style
Everyday is my fall transition style right now, but this is the perfect combo that I’d like to wear every day. The ruffly striped top and raw hem jeans are both from Elodie Boutique, a favorite of mine because of the super cute styles and super affordable prices–I could sing Christina’s praises all day. She is fabulous and you should shop there in Midland (or check what she has on social and order over phone/online!)
I left the house in this look since this top is everything I love about fall styling, a fun sleeve, stripes, billowy silhouette that easily tucks into jeans, I could go on! I added the Chloe bag and my fave shoes and whiel I was out and about shopping, I popped into Marie La Mode and finished off the look with this Lack of Color hat! This brand of hats is my tried and true favorite, more affordable than some of the other quality hat brands, but not hundreds of dollars.
Fall Shopping
Has anyone else started their fall shopping? I’ve just begun with the new Lack of Color hat as a fall staple, but I’m also shopping for shoes like these beautiful mules I NEED THEM, these Dolce Vita booties in cinnamon suede and still obsessed with these Ugg ponchos, especially in oatmeal. I’ve been wanting one since the Nordstrom sale and regret not pulling the trigger.
As far as fall beauty goes, I’ve already gotten a headstart with the Sephora sale (goes on until Monday, Sept. 3). I scooped up the Nars Powermatte lip pigment in london calling–a deeper hue than I normally sport. This Kat Von D eyeshadow palette is almost half off too with deep, shimmery hues I could get behind this season if only I knew how to apply eye shadow. I’m also a huge fan of Bobbi Brown’s crushed lip color. I have it in lilac and telluride, but I’d love to try grenadine, which is a deep pink plum. Love this line since it’s idiot proof and you can wear it as a light stain or swipe over lips a couple times for a deeper lip color.
