The combination of pastel and white was just a tad too country club for my style. I want to enjoy the fancier things in life like eating a turkey bacon club or playing a round of golf within the confines of a members only establishment, I just don’t want to look the part. To add a little edge, I added a black fringe jacket, white sneakers and leopard print clutch. Much more me!
Trying Pastels Again
I owned every pastel color of pant back in 2010-2011 and wore them routinely with denim jackets and tees. It’s embarrassing to flip through the archives of this blog, but it’s been years since I’ve given pastel pants another shot.
So here we go again, this time in a cropped dress pant style with white sneakers! The cropped pastel pants with the white sneaker is a much more modern version of the pastel jean style I used to rock and works perfectly for my day job. I’ve mentioned this several times before, but I work in public relations, running from meetings with lobbyists to client events and this look is definitely polished, but more my style with the sneakers (and comfortable for walks around the Capitol!)

It’s okay, we all wore pastel pants with tee shirts and jeans. It was the thing to do! But fashion reinvents itself every few years and we follow along and cringe at what we wore before… then it comes back in style again. I do love the lavender with the leopard though!
