Honestly, I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve worn this dress in the last three weeks it’s been in my possession. A few weeks ago I was shopping with Ashley at Marie La Mode since she knew the owner from college (small world!) and I tried this on, ripped the tag off, paid for it and walked out in the dress. And I think everyone who knows me has seen me wear it on multiple occasions :: shrugs shoulders ::
Read on for my fave pieces to wear now and for fall:
My Favorite Summer Uniform (that transitions into fall!)
An easy, effortless maxi dress paired with a fun hat for sun protection (and style) plus comfortable, chic accessories is what I’m all about this summer. It’s easy to re-style for any outing. Naturally, black dresses are what I’m most comfortable with, and it’s so simple to style for any occasion or season based on accessories.
The Dress
A minimal dress like this can be styled a million ways for any season. I love it for summer because it’s just one loose layer to wear with anything easy from birks or mules–and that’s it! This exact dress is just available in large right now (I’m wearing a small, 130 pounds, 5’4″ for reference.) This jersey maxi dress is similar and comes in three colors or this dress you could really style up or down–or layer easily.
The Right Hat to Wear on Repeat
I’m also a huge fan of hats no matter the time of the year. I used to reserve wool hats like this Teak Rancher style for fall and wear my straw versions in the summer, but I’ve realied I want to wear this and other wool hats year round–and so now that’s what I do! Lack of Color hats are my favorite, my tried and true. I also love this one!
The Perfect Crossbody Bag
I go through phases with bags and it’s why I have so many. I can easily go from structured satchel to shoulder bag to crossbody. And crossbody bags have been my go-to. It’s just so much more practical for dog walks, outdoor festivals and life in general when summer hits.
This Chloe bag I’m wearing is on sale, and only available in this nude color that I love and kind of wish I would’ve gotten. If it’s still a little pricy for you, I’m also digging this Tory Burch bag that comes in several colors and just discovered this black straw crossbody bag that’s only $52. Considering how often I use my straw bags, this would be a solid addition and would work well into the next season with the dark color.
And It Ends With Shoes!
These faux suede mules are sold out from Urban Outfitters, but the Seychelles version and these open-toed ones are similar and on sale! I also wear a very similar style to these Free People mules that come in a variety of colors. If you like just a little more elevation, these Chinese Laundry mules are also so cute.
