This may have been my quickest trip to Traverse City, but definitely my favorite. The fall leaves were at their peak making it the most scenic drive up and around Old Mission Peninsula for winery tours and we packed in a lot of fun touristy things in such a short amount of time. Matt is the easiest travel companion and gets me out doing more fun stuff than normal–and he has the patience for my million Instagram photo requests.
We headed up on Saturday to help my friend finish setting up her home for Airbnb (it’s gorgeous by the way!) and photograph the space so she can get it listed. I got to see the home before they put in any work–and they’ve done so much work on the house and it was incredible to see the transformation and be a little bit part of it all. But before we got to that, we made the most of the Saturday afternoon.
Winery Hopping
We stopped at two wineries, one with my favorite views outside and one with my favorite cozy interior. I love the outdoor space at Chateau Chantal and the sparkling cherry wine so we popped over there first. Next, we headed to Bonobo Winery and I tried their new prosecco rose. While I sipped on rose, Matt got a pour over from the Mundos Roasting and Co. coffee pop up and then we sat outside by the fireplace.
Downtown Wandering + Dinner
We headed downtown to wander in out and out of shops before grabbing dinner at Taproot Cider House. They had live music and we got the last table right in front of the musician Blair Miller and I sipped on a hard cider cocktail with muddled cherries and ginger beer and Matt got some wine. We were sitting so close to the musician, it was almost as if he was sitting at our table. A delightful little evening!
Sunday Coffee
We started off our Sunday grabbing coffee from Mundos Roasting & Co. before getting back to work on airbnb decorating. I appreciate the minimal aesthetic of this coffee shop and the tasty iced latte, plus Jen and Jack who own the airbnb love this place too and found inspiration there for their home. It’s my new favorite spot in town.
Matt is always willing to humor me and take photos of me/us.
A sneak peek of the master bedroom at the Modern Lodge Airbnb! There are pops of color throughout the house and so much natural light. Check it out here to book!
